Hey Folks Special Patrol are excited to tell you they won the final of the MTV Kickstart award at Jive on Sunday night. Out of 800 bands that entered they are now in the top 5 from all around Australia and New Zealand. On March 15 these top five bands will be put up and voting will open on the MTV website and we’d love it if everyone helped us by voting for us. Thanks to everyone who attended the night. Special Patrol has been touring solidly throughout the last few months. Starting with a tour of the eastern states with the Whitlam's in December. In January they toured around the country again. They did the NSW & VIC legs of The Bees (UK) tour and a Melbourne show with Jeff Martin (Tea Party) as well as many exciting, packed out shows of their own. They are playing in Adelaide on Fri 16th Feb and then they will be doing several gigs with The Whitlam’s in early March here and VIC, before hitting the road again extensively in April and May. The new album, Handy Hints from the Undertaker, is getting played on radio all over the country and you can buy a copy of this album through MGM at you local record store. Special Patrol are playing a big Christmas show at The Electric Light Hotel (235 Grenfell St, Adelaide - old Exchange/Producers Hotel) this Saturday 23rd of December. ALBUM + TOURING STARTS THIS WEEK! The new Special Patrol album: Handy Hints from the Undertaker is out now and can be bought from any good store in your town (In Australia). If your store does not have it in stock yet you just have to ask them to order it in through MGM. If you are from over seas and you want a copy of the new album give us an email and we'll send you one. We'd like to thank everyone that attended the two nights we played in Adelaide to launch the album. We were truly blown away with the support we recived over those two nights. Adelaide Launches + National Album Tour Oct/Nov + New single. After a sold out weekend (Fri 1st & Sat 2nd Sept) of album launches at Adelaide venue Jive, Special Patrol gear up for several other Adelaide shows 1) with Little Birdy and 2) the Nova 919 radio party. They will then release their latest single and hit the road for a string of dates with the Whitlam’s. The album will be in stores through MGM in the rest of the country from the 7th of Oct. The new single is called “The Continuing Story of George Duffield and his plight to take on Hollywood” and explains another chapter of the story, which is the new album “Handy Hints from the Undertaker”. Tuesday June 6, 2006Special Patrol are releasing the single "Changing Emily" to radio and media this week. You may of already heard it on some stations. You can now get yourself a copy of the song by downloading it from the Discography page of this website. The album has been recorded and is currently being mastered. So keep an ear out for the launch of the album "Handy Hints from the Undertaker" in the near future.

Special Patrol single My Friend Gorgeous George has been recieving airplay on radio stations Australia wide.The song is on the nominations list for this years Triple J hottest 100 online voting. Monday October 31, 2005Special Patrol are about to release the first song "My Friend Gorgeous George" from their forthcoming album and are doing a string of dates through December to promote the single.Keep checking the "gigs" side of this page for updates on our shows. The album will be ready early next year and will have some tracks from the Sydney sessions as well as sessions in Jan/Feb.
Friday August 5, 2005Special Patrol have completed tracking ten new songs in Sydney and are back in Adelaide giving their ears a rest before they get back on to the job of mixing and tying up a few loose ends. There should be a release out in the next couple of months (probably an EP at this stage). Much love to the Vag Hole and The Undertaker for their handy hints in Sydney.SP will be playing a couple of live shows on the 19th and 20th of August. Firstly with the fabulous Youth Group at Enigma bar and the following night at Fowlers live with our friends Foreshore who are releasing a new CD. Should be sick mate. Tuesday July 5, 2005Special Patrol will be tracking the songs for their new album at Linear Studio in Syd over the next couple of weeks. While they are there they will play a gig at the Hopetoun Hotel in Surry Hills on Sat the 16th of July with Andy Clockwise, Fourth Floor Collapse and Soles On Board.
